The Spirit of Italy by Timbertooth The Spirit of Italy by Timbertooth
It is complete, at last! :happybounce: This is my entry for the Fiat contest and I sincerely hope you like it. :) I have worked on it for a month, 2-5 hours every day except for the 6 days I spent in Italy doing research. That is to say, this is the drawing I worked on longer than anything else, ever, in my life. Therefore, I'm very proud of it. The style is inspired by my idea of what Italy must look like, which was confirmed when I actually got there (it turned out to look EXACTLY the same as I thought it would!) You can see the influence of several beautiful Italian cities here, especially Venice, Florence, Padova, Sorrento and Rome.
Now you ask how I got the idea. Well, the answer is this: I love Fiat 500. It is a tiny car designed to roam the tiny streets of Italy and look stylish while doing so. Its design corresponds to the retro-looking Italian architecture and fits in perfectly. Fiat 500L is, on the other hand, a big version of the Fiat 500, which can, therefore, carry Italy in its boot. This idea came to me the morning after the contest was anounced so I set off to work immediately. I drew the whole perspective on a printed template which I then scanned and coloured on my tablet. The colouring took me longest, but I think I have learned a great deal from the whole experience. I have found Italy very inspiring and it actually encouraged me to consider studying architecture. :)
If this was to be put on an actual car (and that would be the dream of my dreams' dreams!), the car should be of some nice colour, preferably sky-blue, but yellow and orange would do, too. ;p
Again, I really hope you like it, and may you all have a great week!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it! I wanna go back to Italy, too! My absolute favourite city there is Sorrento, a little mediterranean town on the coast south from Naples. :) Your entry is nice, too!

Sorrento? I don't think I went there.. I'm not really sure. Scratch Head  Memorable places for me was going to the Vatican, then brag to my friend I saw the Sistine Chapel... Then got murdered by her.. then got revived... then forgiven.. hehehhe.. but Italy is beautiful period! I wish I could live there :)

Ooh! Did you go to that fountain place? Fountain of Trevi! Yeah, that's what's it called. My coach told me if you toss a coin in there, you will go back there. I have hopes on going back there. Plus I tossed a coin :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce:  Eep and thank you for seeing my entry

I've been to all of these places! :D The Sistine Chapel was really stunning, but there were to many people in it and I was constantly pushed forward so I spent like 1 minute in it! :( Yeah, Fontana di Trevi was magnificent, too! I also went to see a whole lot of churches so it got a bit confusing and I don't clearly remember what else memorable I've seen in Rome... Have you been to Pompeii and Vesuvius? I had a brilliant guide there, he was really funny and interesting to listen to. :)

Omg. I know what you mean. When I was at the Sistine Chapel, I didn't have time to admire the thing. Well.. Actually.. I had a hard time trying to look for it at first.. I looked left, right, and front.. and i'm like, "what? where is it?" so I saw the other tourists looking up, then I looked up, and I was like, "WHOA! A human did that?" I just wished that I had time to admire it. :( Everyone was like, rushing.

Lol. I saw a lot of churches too, but I failed to remember any of em.

If I went to Pompeii, and of Vesuvius.. I would've died. Because that place is like.. historic. I'm like one of those people who loves history.. and knowing that if I stepped foot there.. i would've just fainted and be like, "Oh my God.. It's just like what the books says" :meow:

Hehe my (our) guides were my swim coach and representative. Me and my swim-mates were in Rome for Swimming competition. There were a lot of places I would've loved going.. but practice is practice - as coach would say :(

It's ridiculous - everyone came there to see the Sistine chapel and then they rushed out of it! The rest of the museums there are just a faint memory compared to THE chapel. And I remember that getting to it was also tricky, with those narrow stairs and all... just to get out almost immediately. :(
Pompeii ruins are really awesome! It's unbelievable how much has been preserved. The most of the experience I still have to thank to that wonderful guide, who made me want to hear more about it. :D
I hope you did well in the competition and I'm sure you'll have the opportunity to go to Italy again! ;p

Oh my Gosh. You know I almost got lost there. I think it was after going through the Sistine Chapel.. we went through this garden (i think it's called a garden)... then i got lost I started to panic... and usually when i panic, i start swearing in my head so much, but then i remembered that i was in a very holy place so i kept swearing in fruit & dessert languages. lol

I really want to go back to the Vatican so bad. I met this priest, cuz he saw that I was lost, and he was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful and sooo gorgeous.. his eyes were green and crystal loosing.. butterfly lashes and thick brows that were soo clean.. and his lips were so perfect and plump i was like "Dear God!" (I really need to go back to the Vatican lol.. I'm so going to hell for thinking of such unholiness)

Next time I go to Italy, I hope i'll go there under my terms: No sports, no business, just fun! hehehe I really want to go to Pompeii so badly. I mean.. that's like HISTORY!
